Hi,
I am a new Mum and wondered if there's anyone out there in the same boat at the moment? My son is 6 weeks old so we're still in the 'not getting any sleep' stage but we're quite eager to get out and about. I've found a few things on-line but most activities either have waiting lists or are for older babies/toddlers. Anyone know of anything that's good for young babies? We are on the waiting list for Jolly Babies and Baby Sensory (when he's a little older) and we're hoping to start baby massage soon. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ya hun,

Speak to your Health Visitor and ask her if there are any 'First Time Mum Groups' I started going to one when J was about 6 weeks and they did about 6 weeks and covered weaning, sleep, play and loads of other great advice BUT the best bit is that they get you out to meet other mums. Don't have to be a 1st time mum BTW. I still see all my girls and J is 21 months. We used to meet a few times a week at houses. Babies used to sleep and we just chatted. HAPPY DAYS xx

Thanks - I've just started going to one of those groups and have been in touch with the NCT.

Hiya,
Theres a really good group on Union Street, opposite the pet shop. It's called play and stay and its on a Wednesday starting at 13.30. I think it's great my little girl is 9weeks old and loves the black and white area. Also loads of friendly faces and a good cuppa :0)
